Who should take this class
This class is for software developers who have experience with modern programming languages such as Java, C#, T-SQL, and PL/SQL but no (or limited) experience with U2 database management systems or the Unibasic procedural programming language.  It is NOT for those who simply wish to connect 3rd party reporting tools to HRPyramid (Crystal Reports, etc.).

mvQuery Basic Training

9 am - 4:15 pm | A. Loftus and R. Goss
Level: Basic/Intermediate
This is a "hands-on" course. PC's will be provided. Space limited.
HRPyramid uses mvQuery to produce checks and certain reports. HRPyramid users can create their own customized ad hoc reports using this tool to query HRPyramid's multivalue data.

This course is designed to provide users with a starting point when creating their own reports using mvQuery Standard Edition. Students will learn how to:

  • connect to the database
  • build queries
  • generate reports

The course assumes no prior experience with mvQuery but does assume an understanding of HRPyramid data. Limited to 12 students.

HRPyramid Database Schema Review

1 pm - 4:15 pm | F. Davison
Level: Introductory
This session will provide a detailed review of the HRPyramid database schema.  The purpose is to provide attendees with an understanding of the location of operational employee, payroll, benefits, billing and related data stored within the HRPyramid database.  This session would benefit both installed and hosted HRPyramid customers that are currently using or intend to use a third party reporting tool such as mvQuery or Informer to self-produce ad-hoc reports.  Workstations are not provided as this is not a hands-on course.  However, handouts will be provided of all material covered during the session.

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding extended relational data structures
  • Employee Master file schema
  • Payroll voucher file schema
  • Tax registers and other accumulated files
  • Employee benefit enrollment data files
  • Billing and Invoicing data files

Who should take this class
No technical experience is required. Those who may have taken the "Understanding and Accessing the HRPyramid Database" class offered at a previous user conference may want to take this class as a refresher as this class will cover the material in more detail than was provided in the "Understanding and Accessing the HRPyramid Database" class.

Using Informer Web Reporting with HRPyramid Web Edition

1 pm - 4:15 pm | C. Reeves, Entrinsik
Level: Basic

Informer is a web-based reporting tool providing your clients the full featured web analytic capabilities expected from today's advanced web applications. In partnership with Entrinsik, FW Davison & Company has tightly integrated Informer with HRPyramid Web, realizing a completely "HRP-aware" reporting experience with the new release of Informer version 4.1. This class will demonstrate the latest version of the product, show and explain how it is integrated fully with HRPyramid, and discuss how to use it with the newly available Data Reporting Account in HRPyramid.

For more information about Informer, visit the Entrinsik website .

Web Edition Customization

1 pm - 4:15 pm | W. Hart

Attendees will get an overview of of the different levels of customization offered by Web Edition and will be able to gauge the difficulty  level of each.  This class will cover the specifics of each approach and will also give attendees a chance to see some of the ideas that others have used when customizing Web Edition.

  • Making minor adjustment to colors and fonts with the built in web tools provided by Web Edition
  • Making more changes via config files in Web Edition
  • Using custom images in Web Edition
  • Making more radical changes by editing Web Edition source code
  • Making sure your changes survive future upgrades of Web Edition

Who Should Attend This Training Class
This class will appeal to a wide range of participants.  One need not be a software developer or seasoned web designer to attend but some rudimentary knowledge of HTML and CSS will certainly be a plus.  For software developers and those interested in extending the capabilities of HRPyramid Web Edition or those interested in integrating it with their own web applications, this class is a great companion to the HRPyramid for SQL Programmers and the Exodus with Redback classes.

Who Should Attend This Training Class
Attendees should have a working knowledge of a modern programming platform such as Java or C#.  While Unibasic experience is not required it will certainly be helpful.
